You'll love the comfortable feel of this hometown pub where every brew is made on site! From the stamped metal ceiling to the old cash register, Molly’s Pint has a very comfortable feel to it with a great atmosphere and friends always around.

Molly’s Pint focuses on European style ales and lagers but creates a variety of seasonal beers throughout the year. The root beer is a must-try along with any seasonal brew they have on tap when you stop in.

Owners Molly and Nick Blew work as hard to create great community as great brews. With a game night every Wednesday, local musicians most weekends, and other lively events, Molly’s Pint is a fun place to relax and visit with others or share a pint and a conversation with the owners of this warm mom and pop brewpub.

St. Nicholas Brewing Company (SNBC) opened in 2011 and sits in a historic marker in Du Quoin Illinois. First built as a space of refuge for railroad workers, it turned into a bustling hotel, then a restaurant, then underground gambling spot, and has worn many other hats since 1879. A three-story impressive brick building, St. Nicholas Brew Co is still the tallest building in Du Quoin to this day.

Presently, the brew pub is a foodie and beer lover's paradise offering unique and upscale pub food like funky burgers, steaks, seafood, and even a hint of Cajun flare. Using locally sourced items, the specials are always changing depending on the season and what is available through local farmers. The 12 taps are always rotating and some top favorites are the Scotch Strong Wee-Heavy, Raspberry Wheat, and Peloton Pale Ale. The cycling theme is strong and present throughout the pub as the owners are all family friends who brainstormed this very idea on a bike ride. Keeping with the heart of the mission statement, SNBC now supports a cycling club of close to 100 riders, hosting weekly rides from the pub, and monthly rides to other brewpubs in the area. 


All of our house brews are produced on-site by our brewmaster, featuring the finest ingredients. The precision and techniques used are essential to develop the perfect flavor. Tours are every other Saturday at 2 and 4 pm. If you can't make those, give us a call and our brewmaster, who only lives blocks away, is happy to hop on his bike and meet you for a private tour. The patio is home to several bar games, and can be rented for any special occasion. Live music fills the garden area on Saturdays, and friendly faces are never hard to find.

Scratch Brewing Company is a farmhouse brewery located five miles from the Shawnee National Forest in Ava, Illinois. Outside Magazine named it one of the top four breweries for foraged beer, and All About Beer Magazine declared it one of the most beautiful places to drink beer in the world! Scratch Brewing Company focuses on farmhouse beers and other styles brewed with homegrown and locally farmed and foraged ingredients. The brewery has an ever-rotating selection of styles enhanced by the innovative addition of local ingredients, such as nettle, elderberry, ginger, dandelion, maple sap, hickory, lavender, juniper, and chanterelle mushrooms. 

Scratch Brewing Company is a hyperlocal farmhouse brewery that produces beer made from ingredients harvested in Southern Illinois, most of which come from the brewery’s own farm and the woods surrounding the brewery. Try a flight of four of the nine seasonal varieties on tap, which could be made with any one of a number of unique ingredients, such as sassafras leaves, rhubarb, wild mushrooms, hickory bark, acorns, sorrel, or nettle. 

Traveling with the family? Grab a couple of glasses of house-made soda for the kids, along with a cheese platter of local goat cheese, and pizza made with tomatoes and basil from the brewery’s garden and cooked in its wood-fired brick oven. Fill a growler of beer to go or mix and match a case with the ever-changing bottle selection of special beers from the cellar.

If you’re in town the first week of March, don’t miss Scratch’s anniversary party, a two-day event that features 20 different beers, unlimited house soda, tea, and coffee, and great farm-to-table fare from guest chefs. 

Or, if you’re passing through during Southern Illinois’s spectacular fall colors, check the calendar for Scratch’s Oktoberfest, usually held the last week of September. Oktoberfest marks the release of Scratch’s traditional Marzen, a beer brewed in March and lagered until October, poured in abundance into handmade steins made by local ceramicists, and served with German-style food. It’s a celebration of the of the season in Southern Illinois, and what better place to be to experience the changing leaves and weather in all their glory?

Scratch Brewing Company

Murphysboro isn’t just the Illinois BBQ capital, it’s also home to the delightfully under-the-radar Big Muddy Brewing. The latter offers the Pumpkin Smasher, made with real pumpkins and savory pumpkin pie spices; the Big Muddy Monster, a cross between an American brown ale and IPA, and the Saluki Dunkeldog, which fuses an American amber with a German dunkel and a hint of chocolate roast. 

The Big Muddy Brewery started strictly as a supplier and, as such, has an industrial feel. As a matter of fact, it's in a Murphysboro industrial park, but they do offer tours and tastings each weekend:  Brewery Taproom Hours: 
Friday 4-10pm, Saturday & Sunday 12 - 7pm

They also have a patio area out back and usually have a game of bags (cornhole, toss back, etc.) going when the weather is nice.  You can order food from Pat's BBQ and have it delivered while you enjoy craft beer.
